Today is Earth Day, an important day on our calendar to come together globally to raise awareness about the environmental issues affecting our planet. Earth Day is widely recognised as the largest secular observance in the world, marked by more than a billion people every year as a day of action to change human behaviour and create global, national, and local policy changes. The fight for a clean environment continues with increasing urgency, as the effects of climate change and global warming become more apparent each day.
To show our commitment towards helping to protect the environment, for every order we receive two trees will be planted by Ecologi, a climate action organisation. Planting trees has a number of benefits, such as removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by putting it back into the plants and soil, cleaning the air by removing pollutant gases, as well as restoring local ecosystems which have been destroyed by deforestation.

As another way of showing our commitment towards our environmental ethos, we have created an exciting new range of Eco accessories which are biodegradable and made sustainably from recycled materials. This includes a beautifully handcrafted bamboo plant tray, which uses ecologically friendly bamboo and environmentally safe practices. We have also launched an adjustable plant hanger made from Jute twine, which is a fibre that is 100% bio-degradable and recyclable. A hectare of Jute plants consumes about 15 tonnes of carbon dioxide and releases 11 tonnes of oxygen. This hanger is hard-wearing, waterproof and can hold up to 5kg in weight, perfect for displaying your Kokedama plants. Our final item from our new Eco accessories range is our glass spray bottle, which is also made from recycled materials. This is a must have for moss Kokedama owners to keep your moss moist and green!
